Introduction
MoHUA, GoI launched HFA (U), a Mission Mode Programme on 25th. June, 2015.It is a seven year programme envisages provision of Housing to all EWS & LIG category families by 2022.The main aim of this mission is to provide each beneficiary a house up to 30 sq. meters with basic necessities.SUDA here the State Level Nodal Agency, which support the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation through capacity building. Municipal Engineering Directorate has provided necessary plan for execution. Third Party Quality Monitoring Agency (TPQMA) has been engaged to ensure quality of construction periodically. In Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation area an amount of Rs.3.68 Lakh has been allotted for construction of each dwelling unit out of which Ministry of Housing of & urban affairs is providing Rs.1.5 lakhs & Government of W.B is providing Rs.1.83 lakhs as state share & Rs.35,000 as beneficiary contribution. By following the guidelines of PMAY (HFA), Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation has launched the project from the year 2016 & till now it is running in full fledged.

The Housing for All (HFA) Scheme in Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation has made significant progress since its launch. Over the past few years, the project has successfully provided affordable housing to many low income families, significantly improving their living conditions. The implementation of the scheme has been marked by the construction of new housing units .Community engagement & transparent governance has been crucial in overcoming challenges & ensuring the scheme’s success. As a result, Bidhannagar has seen a positive transformation in its urban landscape, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the area.

For the project year 2016-’17 a total number of 27 wards had been taken under coverage with a total number of 4350 nos. of confirmed beneficiaries.

In an effort to improve citizen centric service delivery through online mode and to make civic service more accessible to the citizens, BMC has introduced Online General Permission system for the following services
1. General Permission
a. Booking of Venue (Auditorium, Community Center etc.)
b. Booking of Ground (Mela ground, Community ground, Playground etc.)
c. Holding Road Show
d. Taking out Marriage procession
2. License of Pet
The application for the above services can be submitted online and permission/license can be downloaded from BMC website. The online permission/license will not require any signature. The online General Permission system of BMC will come into effect from 1st-August-2019. Currently the payment for services have to be made offline at BMC HQ. The online payment facility for the above services will be introduced shortly.
PMU team’s visit on Aug 07, 2023!!!
Experiential Learning Programme of Bangla Sahayata Kendra (BSK) at Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Kolkata with the students of Sister Nivedita University (SNU), Kolkata.
In the context of the programme, BSK Team, Dr. Arindam Ray, Chief Technology Officer, BSK, Mr. Suparno Roychoudhury, Additional Secretary, P&AR, Mr. Soumya Saha, BSK were present for providing them the necessary guidance to avail youth centric public services. The ELP is a campaign of the BSK to involve students in receiving government services specifically designed for them.
The Chief Technology Officer, BSK has shown a comprehensive presentation about the working process of Bangla Sahayata Kendra, technical challenges, system security measures, e-Wallet system, Bulk transaction handling, reconciliation process, Digitally Signed Certificate (e-Cert) delivery and citizen centric service facilitation process etc.
Smt. Krishna Chakraborty, Hon'ble Mayor (Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation), Shri Sujay Sarkar, IAS, Municipal Commissioner (Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation), Shri. Bivash Kumar Mandal, WBCS (Exe.) Joint Municipal Commissioner, Shri. Nirmal Kumar Das Officer on Special Duty (O.S.D), W.B.C.S.(Exe), Retd. has inspired and explained the other aspects of citizen-centric delivery.
All of the officials and the students of SNU visited Poura Bhawan BSK to learn about the live delivery process of various Government services. BSK Team. They interacted with the citizens and other team members.
It is noteworthy for the Students that BSK provides youth-centric services such as Student Credit Card, Caste Certificates, Manabik, Driving Licenses, Swasthya Sathi, ITI Applications, Kanyashree Prakalpa, Rupashree Prakalpa, etc. among all other multiple departmental services.
Students have got the opportunity to experience live services provided by the BSK Operators at the BSK Center located in Poura Bhawan.
